Cow SharesI offer shares in my small herd of Dutch Belted dairy cows to those desiring fresh, whole milk. Each share represents partial ownership of the herd. In return for a monthly boarding fee, I'll care for the cows, milk them, and make available to you a portion of their milk. The milk is unpasteurized, and non-homogenized. Enjoy the milk whole, or skim the cream for whipping, butter, or ice cream. See the Cow Share FAQ for more information.
Tamworth Pork
I raise heritage breed Tamworth pigs in the open air and sunshine of their outdoor pens. My sows, Tulip and Big Mamma, farrow and rear their litters on the farm. After weaning, my pigs are fed locally-grown corn, clabbered milk from the dairy cows, garden scraps, and excess eggs from the henhouse. Tamworth pork is reddish, firm, and flavorful unlike the white, spongy, tasteless pork sold in supermarkets. Tamworth bacon is unrivalled and highly recommended. The pigs are processed locally at a state-inspected facility. Individual cuts and halves cut to your specifications are available.
Free-range Eggs
Eggs are always available from my free-range hens. The yolks are bright orange and stand up in the pan. My hens are fed a layer mash I grind here on the farm using locally-grown grains, though they prefer to scratch around the farm for bugs, worms, and clover.
Heritage Turkey
I have a limited number of Blue Slate turkeys that will be available in time for Thanksgiving. These turkeys have smaller breasts than grocery store turkeys, but the meat is superior. The turkeys are raised in outside pens. Order well in advance of Thanksgiving.
Pastured-poultry
A limited number of pastured chickens will be available this year throughout the summer. Order in advance.
Fleeces
Fleeces are available in a variety of colors from my Romeldale/CVM sheep. |
